Waraburra State School is situated in the township of Gracemere, on the western outskirts of Rockhampton in Central Queensland. We are proud of our local heritage. Our school name comes from the language of the Darumbal people who are the traditional owners of this area. The Wara (wild guava) clan (Burra) lived in the Gracemere vicinity. Our school symbol represents the wara flower and encompasses the four main groups in our school. This is represented by four people holding hands – students, parents, staff and the wider community. At Waraburra State School we believe through working and learning together, we can build a strong school community. To this end partnerships in learning are crucial to successful outcomes.
The current enrolment is 360 students. Our programs cater for students in prep through to year 6. We have an inclusive philosophy to support all students with their learning and development.
