Our school caters for children from prep to year 6. As a staff we are immensely proud of the standard of education we provide our students. All students explore the current Australian Curriculum subjects of english, maths, history, geography and science and other Queensland subjects such as technology, the arts, health and physical education and Languages other than English (LOTE) is French. There is a strong focus on literacy delivered through our school’s reading and spelling programs. Dance and drama lessons are also a feature of our curriculum with tuition provided by professional community teachers. Our 'Performing arts instrumental music' program is also a highlight of our school with an excellent standard produced by our students in various competitions, events and performances.
We also offer extra-curricular activities such as science mates, music mates, robotics. We participate in some of the Townsville primary schools season sport programs, the Townsville Eisteddfod and Fan Fare. As a school that has a long association with defence force families with a defence support transition aide working with our students, we are always involved in special community events such as ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day. We also celebrate NAIDOC Week and acknowledge the rich cultural diversity of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and their families in our school.
Our school motto is 'Act well your part' and this is reflected in our school values of curiosity, compassion and resilience. From our values we have created three school rules that encompass all that we do and expect of our students.
