The program is founded on 5 CLASS pillars that encourages schools to create opportunities for students to Connect/Care for the reef, Learn, take Actions towards a resilient reef and Share knowledge with the great community and parents towards creating the next generation of reef Stewards.
The program offers a variety of educational resources designed to support learning and teaching of the reef in your school. Most are aligned to the V.9 Australian Curriculum, UNESCO Sustainability Goals and cross curricula priorities of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history and cultural perspectives and Sustainability. There are work sheets, units of work, STEM ideas and an annual Eco Challenge. Please feel free to register and sign in for free to access the educational resources.
We offer teachers development time where we can take you off line for a day of planning to enhance the program in your school and curriculum.
Our Virtual Learning Experience allows us to bring the reef to your classroom from anywhere in Australia or the world. Topics are tailored made or choose from the 10 on offer to enhance your teaching of topics on reef health, threats, management, careers and biodiversity.
Our Experiential program allows you to visit us in Townsville for face to face workshops and out to the reef.
The Portal is a wonderful way to share your school achievements- large or small, connect with other schools and complete an annual action plan that show cases the achievements of your school.
