The Australian Government’s REEF: Kids for the Reef school excursion rebate program is supporting tourism along the Great Barrier Reef by encouraging greater visitation. The program subsidises school excursions to the GBR from across Australia, giving more students first-hand experience of the Reef. It also has many potential benefits for approved high standard tourism operators offering curriculum-linked experiences and tours under the program, and for regional tourism.
